At the Oley Valley Youth League, we believe in the power of play to shape confident, healthy, and resilient young athletes. Through inclusive, skill-building programs and a supportive team environment, we provide youth with opportunities to grow both on and off the field. Our dedicated volunteer coaches and support staff work tirelessly to ensure every child in our community has access to quality sports experiences that foster teamwork, discipline, and lifelong friendships.

As one of the only youth facilities in Berks County to be completely funded by sponsors and families, (we do not receive grants or funds from local government agencies) the OVYL is entirely dependent upon generous local business and community members to continue our mission. Oley Valley Youth League thrives because of the incredible support of our community—and now, we’re inviting you to be part of that impact. Whether you have a few hours a week or just a passion for helping kids grow through sports, there’s a volunteer role for you. We’re currently seeking coaches, assistant coaches, sports commissioners, and board members to help guide our programs and shape the experience for our young athletes. No prior experience is necessary—just a willingness to lead, support, and make a difference. Join us in creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment where every child can thrive. Board of Directors

• The OVYL board of directors provide direction and oversight for all the youth league programs and facilities. Meetings are held monthly and meetings are open to all youth league members that are interested in learning more. We also have several board positions that are currently vacant that we need to fill! Contact the Board President for more information

Sport Commissioner

• Commissioners are responsible for coordinating all components for their sport. This includes attending regional league meetings, new regulations are implemented, setting registration fees and teams, and coordinating games and tournaments. Being a commissioner can be time consuming, to thank these dedicated volunteers, commissioners are entitled to free sport registration for the duration of their service. If you are passionate about a sport, consider becoming a co-commissioner to help build the program! Reach out to the current commissioner of your preferred sport for more information.

Support Staff

• Support staff work with commissioners and hold a single responsibility within the league. This is a great way to gain an introduction into the 'behind the scenes' efforts that make the OVYL sports program successful. As a thanks you, support staff will be reimbursed the registration fee of one child in the associated sport at the end of the season. Please reach out to the sport commissioner for more details about open positions. These roles and responsibilities can include:

  • Managing Equipment, Field Preparation and Set up, Managing Tournaments, Scheduling Referees, or Coordinating practices/games. 

Coach a Sport

• We are always looking for dedicated parent coaches to help lead our team each season. Never coached before? Don't worry! We provide lessons and drills to help you make your season a success. 

Oley Valley Youth League is proud to offer affordable, high-quality sports programs that help our kids grow, compete, and thrive. To keep registration fees reasonable for families, registration fees are used to cover essential costs like referees, league participation, and uniforms. However, we rely on the generosity of our community to help with everything else that makes our programs possible—field maintenance, equipment, and additional uniform needs. Your financial donation, no matter the size, directly supports the experience and safety of every child who steps onto our fields.
