Oley Valley Youth League

OVYL Mission Statement

The Oley Valley Youth League is organized to promote, develop and supervise the participation by persons who reside within the Oley Valley School District in programs of youth activities, particularly organized sports. The OVYL strives to assist members and participants in developing mentally, socially and physically and thereby developing qualities of good citizenship and sportsmanship. Encompassed in these qualities are self-confidence and the willingness to learn the value of self-esteem, self-confidence, team play and physical fitness. The importance of winning shall be de-emphasized in favor of the joy of participation until the upper levels of the various sports.

OVYL Board - Two Postions Unfilled

OVYL is a volunteer run organization. We rely on everyone to do their part. All board member positions are for a two-year term. We hold elections every year for half of the positions which ensures the board will always have experienced members to assist the new members in their duties. The open positions are listed below. OVYL Board Position Descriptions

Spring Soccer Registration

Spring Soccer registration will remain open until December 31, 2018.

Travel Teams:

- The travel team age groups will be the same as the Fall 2018 age groups, and is available for age groups U9 (birth year 2010) through U13 (birth year 2006).

- Team registrations are due to RBJSL by mid-January, so we will be finalizing the rosters within the first two weeks of January.

- Games typically start the end of March/beginning of April. Practices will be pending weather conditions and field availability. The games typically go through the beginning of May.

- If your child did not play travel soccer this past fall and needs a uniform or if you need to re-order a uniform for any reason, please contact Soccer Commissioner Matt Adukaitis (madukaitis@gmail.com).

U8 Soccer Clinics:

- We will once again have soccer clinics for the U8 age group (birth years 2011 and 2012). The clinics will be hosted by players from the high school boys and girls teams.

- The clinics will be tentatively held every Saturday from 10:00-11:00 AM beginning on March 23 and ending on April 13 at the high school turf field (weather permitting).

- The U8 soccer clinics are free, no registration or fundraising fees.

2019 Boys JV & Varsity Travel Basketball Tournament

Oley will be hosting its Annual Basketball Tournament for JV and Varsity Travel Teams on January 25-27, 2019. All tournament games will be held at OVES, OVMS, and OVHS. A non-refundable entry fee for the tournament is $250.00 with entry being awarded on a "first come-first serve" basis. All registrations are due on or before January 5, 2019. 2019 3/4 Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament

Oley will be hosting a Basketball Tournament for 3rd and 4th grade Boys and Girls REC Teams on February 8-10, 2019. All tournament games will be held at OVES, OVMS, and OVHS. A non-refundable entry fee for the tournament is $250.00 with entry being awarded on a "first come-first serve "basis. All registrations are due on or before January 19, 2019. OVYL Coaches and Team Parents:

OVYL Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Team Parents MUST be registered with OVYL. A Team Parent is a Coach Assistant position. This does not refer to the parent of a player on the team. We use this to verify those that work with the OVYL children have their clearances. It is also used to set up communication groups.

- Scroll to the section you want to make changes and click on the pencil image on the right side of the title.
